II: ADVENT OF GODS
When the first wave of attackers met the ground, the
result was destructive and bloody. Swords and shields
flew asunder and arrows almost threatened to eclipse
the sun. Wave after wave they came hell-bent on rampage
and devastation. Yet, the mortals were able to stand
their ground. Their coordinated defensive maneuvers
enabled them to thwart the destructive hordes. Even
if they lost countless lives in the process, their formation
still remained intact and the Gods werenĄ¯t able to scuttle
their defenses. The humans were not blessed with divine
powers but their bravery and trust in one another was
their strength. For the time it mattered most, they
were able to set aside the petty differences of race,
creed, bloodlines and they were totally united against
the intimidating forces of the Gods. Even the Gods were
surprised at the valor of the human forces. The battle
was long, hard and well-fought. It seemed that the combatants
were pitted against each other in an almost equal match.
After 158 days of fighting, the war reached an impasse.
The attackers werenĄ¯t able to gain much headway and
the defenders incurred tremendous casualties. Soon,
the Gods decided to call of additional attacks for
fear of losing more warriors and comrades. During
their hasty retreat, they unknowingly left behind
some of their precious and rare elements which the
humans gathered for safekeeping. When they brought
home the mysterious gems, the strange old man became
ecstatic as he joyously announced that those gems
were the items needed for making god class weapons
and armors. The prophecy it appeared has now come
true. They have found the key behind the vulnerability
of the gods. Soon, they will use the very same weapons
of the gods for the battles that lay ahead. For now,
the era of glorious hope would prevail upon the lands.
